Christopher Hornsby is the direct descendant of Richard Avery Hornsby, an English ship captain who defeated 75 French pirates in 1744. Hornsby's ship, manned by 5 men and 2 boys was a merchant ship made for speed and looked an easy target for the pirates. After hours of fighting Hornsby repelled the pirates and watched them sail away in defeat. Upon returning to England he was rewarded by King George II with money and a gold watch with chain. What the general public does not know is that Hornsby was also presented a saber with a silver hand guard. The saber, much like Hornsby, was void of flare and sturdy. King George stated to Hornsby that as long as Hornsby and his family possessed the sword that it would never falter and never break. The saber has been passed down from generation to generation in the Hornsby family, and each descendant has carried it through either warfare or the pursuit of justice. It is Christopher Hornsby's turn to carry the saber now under the guise of The Silver Saber, as a defender of the weak and champion over evil.
Great character and a fantastic historical backstory - I take it we were fighting the French then - we usually were - all I know about George II was that he was pretty much German! lol - but he was OUR German! Anyway - great design - are you going to develop this character?

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

I know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Any pics in my gallery that look good are because God shone through. Any that don't are because I wasn't listening to Him.
