This is one of the first supporting characters that I have come up with for my Safeguard universe. This is Marvin Freeman who was formerly known as Doctor Shocker (I came up with a really bad villain name on purpose) and now runs his own car repair shop as a civilian. Marv is a former villain just like Safeguard and they used to run together on the same super villain team back in the day. Marv is a genius who was once a brilliant scientist who worked on building better and safer ways of developing energy for the world when he created his famous Electro-Gloves. These gloves could generate and emit electricity without having to tap into a central power source and would have been a great resource for the world had Marv not decided to use them for other purposes. Marv decided to use the gloves for personal gain and became the villain known as Doctor Shocker. As a villain Marv was feared for his anger and short temper, often hurting others severely for no apparent reason. It was found later that Marv was addicted to steroids and his anger stemmed not only from his drug addiction but the ability to wield great power at the same time. While in jail Marv was forced to sober up and start some serious soul searching. Marv made a promise that he would never harm anyone again, and to lay low for the rest of his life. He now runs a local garage and repairs people's everyday car problems. He stays in contact with Safeguard as they are still good friends and acts as his conscience when needed.
Just a nit pick, but the civilian and the villain don't really match up for me. He seems to have become more slight build since his bad days.
I like the concept though, and you know sometimes the corny names are the best.
